Story Idea Development
A session for reporters with a general interest but no defined story yet. We take the subject you keep returning to and work out what specific, answerable question sits inside it, what would need to be found out, and whether that is realistic with the time you have. Suitable when an idea has been circling for a while without becoming anything.
What's included
- • One 80-minute session
- • Written note with two or three possible framings
- • First reporting steps for each framing
Border Region Reporting Guidance
Guidance for reporters covering cross-border trade, movement and community life in the western and northern regions. Covers understanding official procedures, working respectfully with communities on both sides, verifying accounts when records are sparse, and writing about movement of people without reducing them to a category.

Bilingual Reporting Support
Support for reporters working across Swahili and English in the same body of work. Covers deciding which language a piece belongs in, translating quoted speech without flattening tone, keeping terminology consistent across a series, and producing a second-language version that reads as written rather than converted.
